"A [preacher] who does not love art, poetry, music and nature can be dangerous. Blindness and deafness toward the beautiful are not incidental; they are necessarily reflected in his [preaching]." — BXVI
Well, this is as good a place as any to leave this post. I made a trip to Plano [a northern suburb of Dallas for those of you unfamiliar with the area]. I went to a Chinese mall there and I saw the NICEST group of Chinese high school students singing carols. They literally transformed the atmosphere. I've seen no such thing as moving in either Highland Park or Dallas.
I think people should remember that there was a time when the Chinese were not welcomed and banned. The next time someone is tempted to say, "This one or that one should go back where you came from" that they may be losing out on a very valuable NEW aspect to OUR culture. I know there are exceptions to every rule and all the rest but I wish you could have seen what I did.
It made me ache when it comes to the signs I see regarding Muslims. Give them some time and they may be in a suburb singing, too.
Just my observation for today. I hope I don't offend anyone.
