I'm surprised that the lapdog press reported the story at all but not at all surprised that the rental listing was deleted from the web once the story broke. The link above takes you to a cached screenshot of the Obama family Christmas extravaganza.
Yawn. . .as I have said from the beginning: The One is just another politician.
Speaking of false messiahs. . .
Wow, I sure envy the Maitreya's C.V.:
ReplyDelete"As a modern man concerned with today's problems, Maitreya works behind the scenes of our changing world. The outpouring of his extraordinary energy has been the stimulus for dramatic developments on many fronts: the ending of the cold war; the break-up of the Soviet Union; the reunification of Germany; the ending of apartheid in South Africa; the growing power of the people's voice, leading to demands for freedom and justice; and the worldwide focus on preserving the environment."
I should start advertising myself like that.
Japhy,
ReplyDeleteYour claim to these accomplishments are as legit as his.
I want evidence.
Jeff - No, no, no - I did all that (and before breakfast too)
ReplyDeleteAt my advanced age I don't remember any other President doing such a vulgar thing. Bush went to the ranch or Camp David. Of course, the Clintons traveled the world on our dime, but this is so, errrrr, course and tacky!
I'm not sure what the point of this post is. Do you think he should be staying in a Motel 6 somewhere?
ReplyDeleteBill,
ReplyDeleteYes, that's exactly what I expected b/c it's obvious that there are only two choices for him: Motel 6 and $30 million Hawaii resort.
What I expected...given the rhetoric of his PR team, the media...that we would have a president who would do things differently. My dictionary defines the word "change" in such a way that one tends to apply it to describe circumstance A when A has in some way been altered into circumstance B so that B looks nothing like A.
Far-left Chicago Democrat Spends Tons of Money on a Hawaiian Christmas Vacation While the Country is in an Economic Meltdown Under Miles of Snow...
That's not change. It's just politics as usual. When Bush was first elected the media raked him daily for his ranch vacations. Now, b/c we have the Messiah, presidents spending time on vacation is just fine.
All presidents have taken vacation time. It's a hard job and most people realize they need vacation time. Here's a 2003 Yahoo article comparing Bush's vacation time in his first two years in office to his predecessors' vacation time over their entire terms. Bush got raked because he spent so much time on vacation.
ReplyDeleteOh well, it's not as if Obama could be in Hawaii for any reason besides a vacation.
You don't like Obama, and you're looking for a stick to beat him with. But you seem to think any stick will do, no matter how stupid the argument. Find one way in which Obama is the same as other politicians and that somehow obliterates his entire message? Please, that argument doesn't even rise to Michael Moore's level of sophistication.

ReplyDeleteBill,
ReplyDeleteHere's a stick: he's not president yet. He's been a senator for exactly two years...a predominately non-voting senator.
He's done nothing and doesn't deserve a vacation.
I take that back. He has done something. He's been a presidential candidate for two years.
How's that?
