On the day Benedict XVI was elected, I had court. By an amazing coincidence, I again have court all day on the date fixed to begin the next conclave. So bummed was I about not being able to glue myself to the news on the 12th that it never occurred to me until this morning that it's a sacrifice I can offer up for the election of a holy and heroic Pope. I sure have a long way to go.
ReplyDeleteAnita, I was in a meeting in Houston when BXVI was elected. . .fortunately, the meeting was in the archdiocesan bldg so we all ran downstairs to watch the announcement.
DeleteThis time I am in class all day and I have a meeting that night. I found myself thinking, "I hope that they don't elect a new pope on the first day of the conclave. . ." So, I'm right there with ya. :-)
