I'd say that John McCain would've had a stronger incentive to end torture since he actually had experienced torture as a POW in Vietnam. He attempted to pass legislation in 2005 under the detainee treatment act. Obama, as Fr Phillip has pointed out, is still in the act of playing political word games.
Other good things: ending the Bush torture regime; sparing the world the horror of an incompetent Palin/McCain administration.
