As I watch the world unfold --and Western culture and society dismantle itself-- over the last 50 years, I have taken an increasingly reactionary attitude to much of what even conservatives now take for granted.
ReplyDeleteOddly, I find myself remembering my Baltimore Catechism on the matter of occasions of sin. To create situations where any realistic and prudent person would predict that sinful consequences would increase seems to me to describe much of the egalitarian trance we have been led to believe is somehow natural and/or good. Be it the "anti-sexism" which puts women in traditionally all-male institutions (especially high testosterone ones like the military) or the "anti-racism" which puts ethnic/racial groups that are obviously inimical, hostile, competitive and/ incompatible at close quarters...it seems to me now that only idealists/fools should be surprised at the numerous disasters that result.
As noble as the general's "zero tolerance" sounds, it is his deluded attachment to "inclusivity" which creates the very situation he heroically deplores.
I really don't think it's too much to ask of military men that they refrain from sexually abusing their female colleagues.
