A reminder to you all:
Today is the Solemnity of All Saints. . .
A holy day of obligation.
We are celebrating 4 Masses today at St. Dominic's: 7.00am, 8.30am, 12.15pm, and 6.00pm.
Y'all come!

ReplyDeleteHere, for example, it's not a holy day of obligation.
We have just 4 here (and many solemnities are civil holidays...), and I'm aware there are countries with even less of them.
Are you sure about that? As far as I know, Nov. 1st is a HDO for the whole church.
DeleteWell, I searched about it again and it turns out that technically it is an HDO, but it's among the truckload of them that are transferred to the following Sunday. The ones that are not transferred are those 4 that fall on week days.
DeleteI came to know about your blog from your regular comments back in the golden days of Jimmy Akin's blog, and you may remember that it was frequently mentioned there that apparently the local conferences of bishops have some autonomy over the HDO. If I remember correctly, somebody said that Canada has only 2 of them...
