Father prays the rosary in the middle of a Chick-fil-A protest. Listen carefully to the protesters and tell me if you hear any tolerant, accepting, loving comments coming from these Embodiments of Tolerant Accepting Love. Maybe Father should've been praying the Rite of Exorcism. . .

ReplyDeleteA Machiavellian thought. In a liberal culture, if dominant groups start to give way to subaltern groups, they are signing their own death warrant. What starts as a plea for mere tolerance, a little justice, etc. eventually morphs into what you have here. This is true not only of sexuality, but gender and race.
This is contemporary liberalism in a nutshell: a totalizing Marxian program of social engineering designed to replace traditionally successful groups (Oppressors) with traditionally less successful groups (Victims), using State power and social control to enhance the status, power and resources of the Victims at the expense of and to the detriment of the Oppressors. The Dictatorship of the Proletariat becomes the Dictatorship of the Victims.
However true in the past, White, Male, Christian, Heterosexual dominance is now a thing of the past and new Hegemons are in place and they are as dogmatic and nasty as can be, full of the venom of the self-righteous victim. Think I'm exaggerating? Use Voltaire's brilliant assessment tool: "If you wish to learn who your rulers are, discover who you are not allowed to criticize."
So my advice to any dominant group in future is to hang on tight and give very little if anything to your subalterns, and above all, never cede the moral high ground to your opponents.
