When in Rome. . .?

For those who are still insisting that ashes on the forehead is somehow Divinely Ordained Sacramental Tradition and Therefore Ashes MUST Be Worn ON THE FOREHEAD All Day. . .I give you the Roman Tradition on the matter. . .

One of you guys had better let the Pope know that he's doing it wrong!

In no way, shape, or form have I seen anyone, including myself, make the (straw) argument you're leading with.

What I'm not getting is the obsession with washing a sacramental off.

Most of the nuances of language don't.

That's why we should discuss this, after Easter, over a good steak, a few bottles of wine, and perhaps a cigar and some cognac, if you're so inclined.

But until then, we fast and pray in secret.

I noticed that..is it just to the Priesthood that ashes are distributed that way??

  5. Jackie,

It may have been at one time a special way to distribute to the clergy...not anymore.

    Flambeaux,
