The Shrinking Ample Friar

Some good news. . .

I've lost 12lbs. since the second week of July!

My plan: no carbs at breakfast or lunch. Regular meal w/o desert in the evening. No snacking. Lots of water.

The breakfast/lunch portion of this plan is very easy. The seminary cafeteria provides lots of options, including an excellent salad bar with fresh mixed greens and fruit. They usually put out cold, sliced chicken or beef.

The problem days are Saturday and Sunday when I'm "on my own" at the priory. Oy.

So, by Christmas I hope to be under 250.

  1. Glad to hear you are succeeding with the battle of the bulge. I have given up carbs too and am trying to limit sugary foods.

    1. Give up the carbs slowly. . .over time. Otherwise, you will go through something like the DT's!

Congrats...regardless of the method, cutting out sugar is always a good idea.

  3. Perseverance is the key. Little by little, change your life style. You can snack on fruit. Can you add a bit of exercise?

  4. Good for you! I guess before long I'll have to stop calling you what I've been calling you . . . . ;-)

  5. Awesome! Keep up the good work!

I too have been less gravitationally challenged as of late. My process involves juicing and salads through the week with regular (controlled, moderate) eating on the weekends. It seems to be working although I am not weighing myself, just judging progress by the baggy pants and shirts and breaking out older clothes I haven't worn in a while!

I pray for your success and ask a little prayer set aside for me when you can, please.

    1. Thanks, deacon. . .prayers ascending. I tend to monitor my weight by how my habit belt is fitting. I'm on the verge of going up a notch!
