  1. Hi,

A friend of the murdered Grapevine family is in my class at school, so I've kept up with this story. The consensus now seems to be that the killings were due to financial trouble; it was not an "honor killing." I'm not sure why that was immediately assumed, but it doesn't seem to be the case, or at the very least, no one is *sure* what the motive was.

Pat Buchanan wrote an article in the last couple of days suggesting that much of the rhetoric from the Anti-Christmas, Anti-Faith, Anti-God crowd could be seen as hate speech. I wonder if some enterprising Christian Lawyer--or some township whose village Creche is undergoing attack at the hands of these ideologues--couldn't use this as grounds for a counter attack, and put some of this craziness to bed, if not once and for all, at least for a while. After all, the other side has used the courts for decades to promote their minority position over the views of the majority. Turnabout is fair play.

Re the melee in the mall. As with all these stories, there is one consistent thing about the "young people" that no one is allowed to mention any more in print but that the videos show plainly.
