N.Korea's Dear Leader is dead.  Dear Leader, Jr. is now. . .um. . .Dear Leader.  Why do socialist worker paradises always end up being quasi-medieval serfdoms with hereditary princes?

  1. Father, in re the ex-nun "following her conscience" out of the Catholic Church: 2 or 3 years ago, you did a really good post on the subject of people who argue that their consciences are leading them to do evil, using the analogy of finding a pecan pie in the kitchen versus making a pecan pie yourself. Can you repost this or otherwise talk about this again? It seems to be much needed. Thx.

  2. Re: Big brothers. I actually pulled the "you're adopted" trick on my brother. He bought into it hook, line & sinker. As I recall from a perspective of over 50 yrs. distance, the butt whipping received from my father was in a class all of it's own.
