More Roman rioting from Tuesday

The poster of the video below claims that the gov't infiltrated the protesters and started the riots in order to give the police an excuse to crack some heads. Entirely possible, even probable. Of course, it could be the case that the "gov't agents" are really communist agents pretending to be policemen so that the protesters can later claim that it was the police who started the riot.

    Why does Europe seem to have such a greater tolerance for rioting than the US? My impression is that even small riots here are put down pretty quickly, and Heaven help you if you hurt a cop. But riots in Europe just seem to be treated as part of the seasonal landscape.

  2. Phillip, we were talking about that very notion at table yesterday. I think EU gov't's are more indulgent of students in general here. Also, there's a much longer history of violent leftist activity in Europe.
